Open licences

The implementation candidate uses the open-licence split approved on 17 September 2026. These licences permit reuse under their conditions; they do not certify a production deployment.

These licences apply to different material; they are not a choice of either licence for every file. Implementation examples and code blocks embedded in documentation use Apache-2.0, while their surrounding explanatory prose uses CC BY 4.0. Implementations and commercial reuse require no Foundation account, provider account or protocol royalty under these grants.

Attribution and redistribution

Attribute documentation to Odexa contributors, preserve more specific supplied attribution, link to the source and CC BY 4.0, and indicate modifications as required by that licence. Preserve applicable notices and licence copies when redistributing implementation material under Apache-2.0. The full texts govern their terms.

Third-party dependencies and separately attributed material retain their own licences. Project and third-party names, logos and trademarks are excluded from these grants. No endorsement, certification or trademark permission is granted.

The complete licensing notice defines the scope and limitations. Licence-text provenance records the source and hash of each full text. Both full texts and the notice are included in the source package and staged Python wheel.

Licensing does not establish production readiness, an external audit, legal clearance or absence of third-party patent claims. Apache-2.0 contains its own contributor patent grant; no additional patent-clearance guarantee is made. See release status for the candidate’s publication boundaries.
