# Odexa licensing

This package applies the following licences to original Odexa material:

Implementation material embedded in documentation, such as code blocks, JSON examples and machine vocabulary definitions, is covered by Apache-2.0; the surrounding explanatory prose is covered by CC BY 4.0. This separation permits implementations and commercial reuse under the applicable licence without requiring a provider account or protocol royalty. The full licence texts control the grant and its conditions.

For documentation attribution, identify **Odexa contributors**, retain any more specific supplied attribution, link to the source document and CC BY 4.0, and indicate modifications as required by that licence. Preserve applicable notices and licence copies when redistributing implementation material under Apache-2.0.

Third-party dependencies and separately attributed third-party material retain their own licences; these grants do not relicense them. The **Odexa and Ortello names, logos and trademarks are excluded from these grants**. No endorsement, certification or trademark permission is granted; any rights otherwise available under applicable law remain unaffected.

The service/evidence release remains **`1.2.0-draft.2` — developer preview**, with the policy core at `1.2.0-draft.1`. Licensing does not establish production readiness, an external audit, legal clearance or absence of third-party patent claims. Apache-2.0 contains its own limited contributor patent grant; no additional essential-claims or patent-clearance guarantee is made here.

The complete licence texts are retained without modification in `LICENSES/`. Apache-2.0 was downloaded from Apache's official site. The CC BY 4.0 text uses the SPDX project's maintained copy because the canonical Creative Commons text download returned HTTP 403. The canonical terms remain Creative Commons' legal code.
